The School of Music is a place where people of all ages can discover and perfect their God given musical abilities. If you have an interest in learning your ability for the first time or developing skill that you once had, we welcome you to put your trust in our highly trained and personable faculty.
In addition, we also offer Music Therapy, Theatre Classes, Photography Classes and Art Classes. Music therapy is provided by a Board Certified Music Therapist, who uses evidence-based interventions. The therapy focuses on nonmusical therapeutic goals, unlike music lessons, which focus on teaching music. A multitude of goals can be worked on, such as motor skills, communication skills, cognitive-functioning, social skills, and emotional support. Many populations of people can benefit from music therapy-people with autism, intellectual and physical developmental disabilities, memory loss diseases, and people who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. Contact COA if interested for an initial assessment.
Theatre Classes are designed for students in grades 3-12 and offered during the day if we have sufficient enrollment and the afternoon. Classes are offered in Fall and Spring Sessions for the 12 week course!
The School of Visual Art is a place that provides students with the opportunity to be creative in a variety of ways. This school offers instruction in drawing and painting using various mediums and textures. Additionally, there is instruction in working with clay and basic sculpting. Classes are held for 16 weeks each semester and designed for children in grades 1-5.
Digital Photography class is a fun five-week photography course designed specifically for the amateur photographer who wants to improve the quality of their photos. Learn the basics of composition, using available light and basic editing. In addition, learn how you can improve your vacation photos and those taken of your family. You do not need an expensive digital camera for this class.
Musicianship classes are intended for both adults and students who are interested in learning to read music or increasing their musical knowledge. There are three different levels of Music Theory classes for beginning students through advanced students. They would be perfect for the middle school or high school band or choir student who is interested in learning more about reading and understanding music.
