Custom Education Cooperative - C.E.C.

C.E.C. is a growing group of homeschool families across Central Alabama. Our goal is provide support, educational opportunities, and COMMUNITY to the homeschool families in our area. United in faith, we are a diverse group of families and encompass many different styles of education. C.E.C. is rooted in a Charlotte Mason approach, which is a belief that “the child is a person and we must educate the whole person, not just his mind.” We believe in the importance of character and developing each child’s God-given strengths as well as encouraging them to grow as Jesus did: “…in wisdom, in stature, and in favor with God and men (Luke 2:52).”

We believe in sharing our gifts with each other and that by helping ease burdens in this way we are an extension of the body of Christ. Parent involvement is one of the most key benefits to homeschooling, but we do not believe that means parents must be perfect at everything for their students. We enjoy leaning on others gifts and strengths to supplement our children’s educations.

We strive to cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
